The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens will cover just about any shooting need you have while traveling - with a range that goes from 25mm wide angle to 300mm telephoto. And unlike conventional digital zooms, which can degrade the image, Intelligent Zoom uses Intelligent Resolution Technology to maintain the image quality of the 12x optical system while extending the zooming power to 16x.
The ZS7 records HD motion images with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. It uses the AVCHD Lite (MPEG-4/H.264), which achieves higher image quality while using less data than conventional Motion JPEG.
Zoom-in movie: You can zoom in and out while shooting motion images.
Stereo mic: Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator records dynamic, true-to-life audio that brings out the power of the HD images.
Wind cut function: Minimizes the distracting sound you hear from the wind blowing into the mic.
Video divide: You can divide a single video into two parts, splitting it at any point you desire.
The camera uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine your latitude and longitude, and automatically displays the location and area name on the LCD. It even displays the names of famous sightseeing locations. Positional data is also recorded with the image, making it easier to sort your photos by location and to arrange slideshows. When you return home, you can place thumbnail images onto an online map displayed on your PC.
